I grew up in Taiwan and started to play table tennis when I was in elementary school. I was able to join the school varsity team in my junior high school and played a lot of competitive games in the league. However, I stopped playing when I was 15, and now picked it up again in college. In my freshman year in UW-Madison, I joined the club and became on of the executive board member. UWTTC is a relatively young club, however, table tennis is the number one population sport in the world, and we are able to find a lot of people who have the same interest of table tennis to play together.

I starting playing recreational table tennis in high school and began taking it more seriously after joining the club in college. I am a senior this year and hope to continue helping the club grow and succeed, and leave it in good standing for the future.

I am a sophomore student majoring in Computer Engineering. I started playing table tennis in China at about 11, and keep playing until now. Most of the time, I play competitive table tennis. Actually, I like all kinds of sports because they make me feel energetic. Other than that, I am also interested in computers, like making websites, writing programs, etc. This is my second year in the club, and I hope to meet more new faces.

I'm a sophomore double majoring in biology and economics. I have been involved with UW Table Tennis club since freshman year, while I don't have much background in table tennis, I enjoy being part of the club and meeting new people. The club is very welcoming and a great place to find your future roommates. : )

Hello, I'm Max Wang and I'll be supervising the transportation to the various table tennis tournaments throughout the year. I'm currently a junior studying Electrical Engineering, an enthralling subject... But when I'm not falling asleep in class, I like to play tennis, practice martial arts and gymnastics moves, and make amateur action and suspense films. Oh yeah, I play table tennis as well. This is my third year on the team, and I plan to work my way to the top. As a prospective table tennis club member, I hope you'll have a chance to chat with me. I love having a good conversation and sharing my silly ideas with people. See you on the team for those who come. I'm really excited to see new faces.

I have always liked playing table tennis and started during high school with the small, recreational club team. Making the transition to a collegiate level was fun and exciting because I made a lot of new friends, including graduate students, professors, and UW-Madison Staff, and saw an entirely new and competitive side to table tennis. My favorite aspect of the club is that there is such a wide range of skill of dedication that you can play as much as you want and there is always fun competition. The other great part of this club is the willingness of the experienced players to help out and teach the rest of the club. I look forward to playing more table tennis and meeting all the new members.

My table tennis career started in my basement about 4 years ago with a bored daughter and an even more bored father. After graduating "basement lessons", I received training at a local table tennis club and started to play competitively. Toward the end of high school, I recruited a 10-player team to compete in the Minnesota State Table Tennis Championships. While the results weren't anything to brag about, I found the mixture of friendship, competition, and teamwork very exciting and decided to continue playing at the collegiate level. I have absolutely no regrets about this decision and I'm sure any future member of UWTTC won't either :)

I have been involved with the table tennis team for three years now and have spent two years on the executive board. I started playing table tennis in my garage when I was about 15 and really enjoyed the sport. This club is a great place for people with all levels of experience and I am happy to be a part of it.

I am a senior double majoring in Chemistry and Spanish in May of 2010, and hope to attend medical school within the near future. I started the Table Tennis Club with Richard Qian during the Fall 2006 semester, and served as the Vice-President for two years. I have been playing table tennis for 5 years now, and wish to continue to promote the spread of this great sport. I look forward to meeting everyone during my last year at UW-Madison!

Table tennis has been a passion of mine since elementary school. Playing with friends in school yard in Beijing quickly turned into more structured training at a local club where I was hitting more than couple thousand balls a day. Moving to Wisconsin during middle school gave me a change of pace but I quickly got back to the sport by starting a club at Brookfield Central High School. I carried on the passion to Madison and now we are one of the top 5 teams in the nation. The table tennis club has been an integral part of my life and it’s great to see new faces every semester.
